Creating a Culture of Responsibility in Business

Of the world’s jobs, 80 per cent are through business. The ability of businesses to improve society and progress humanity is infinite. There is a limit to profit making but there is no limit to social good that is possible. In fact, business exists to improve society. If business owners saw themselves as ethical leaders with a moral responsibility and consumers held them to account, big things would be possible. It’s quite a daunting area for some but there are a few frameworks that are good as a start, such as creating opportunities for disadvantaged producers, transparency and accountability, and promoting Fair Trade.
